It was a week ago that my Pops and I headed out to Murrieta with my gear to meet up with Faith & Robbi at Lily Kelly Ministries for a classic car show that was going to take over several blocks of downtown Murrieta. The Rod Run was a pretty big deal in the area and once we got close, the streets were blocked off and getting a spot to park close by was a challenge. There were lots of beautiful old cars, hot rods, rat rods and other unique automobiles at the show. I brought the DJI FPV, Avata FPV and the Mavic Air 2S drones with me and also loaded my 20″ Kent Torpedo e-Bike in the back of the Tundra in the event that I needed an alternative method of transportation once we had parked. That was a good idea. We had a great time once we got all my gear unloaded between the Chapel and the new Coffee House.

I checked out telephone and power lines in the area so I wouldn’t whack anything with my props. There were cars were tucked into parking spots along the way in some places, so I flew lower and in between the trees on my later flights that day. I was flying it with the DJI Motion Controller which I have done a few times. This time, instead of doing what I wanted it to do, it decided to go into an Auto Landing sequence about 50 feet from where I had taken off. I tried to override it, cancel the Auto Landing but I wasn’t sure how to do it. I told me Pops that I was having trouble with it and finally took off my FPV goggles so I could see where I was really was since my display did not help much. It was a little tense for a while. I did not want to land my Avata drone on some priceless restored automobile with an expensive paint job or touch down in the back seat of that gorgeous 1956 Corvette that was close by. I have landed both the
